The Division of General Studies (DGS) offers this list of free tutoring resources available on the University of Illinois campus.
Grainger College of Engineering
Undergraduate engineering students can sign up for drop-in tutoring and peer advising via the Center for Academic Resources in Engineering (CARE). Supported courses of interest to Astronomy students include MATH 220/221, 231, 241, and 285; and PHYS 211, 212, 213, 214, 225, and 325.
Jeffries Center
The Michael L. Jeffries, Sr. Center for Access and Academic Success (formerly Office of Minority Student Affairs, OMSA) offers free tutoring and academic services to all U of I students. Matched tutoring, online 24/7 tutoring, and academic skills consultations are among the services offered. The Jeffries Center's services are designed to help students achieve in college. The level of rigor at the University of Illinois is different than in high school or community college. No matter how you performed before attending Illinois, there is always room to hone your study skills. Tutoring is offered for many of the 100- and 200-level MATH and PHYS courses.

ASTRONOMY DEPARTMENT TUTORING
The Department of Astronomy organizes a tutoring program specifically geared for Astronomy Department majors, though students in other majors will be accommodated if space allows. The focus is on the introductory physics (e.g. PHYS 211) and astronomy (e.g. ASTR 210) courses. The typical format is a weekly small-group study session focused on a particular course.
