Are you graduating this spring?

Congratulations on earning your degree! To mark this important accomplishment, you are invited to participate in the Undergraduate Astronomy Convocation, to be held live on May 17, 2026, at 5 p.m.  We hope you and your family will join us to celebrate your noteworthy efforts and achievements of the past four years.

Doors open at 4:00 p.m.

Ceremony (5:00 pm): Illini Rooms A, B, C - Illini Union (1401 W Green St, Urbana, IL 61801)

Reception (6:00 pm): Illini Rooms A, B, C - Illini Union (1401 W Green St, Urbana, IL 61801)

Eligibility

You are eligible to participate in the Convocation Ceremony if you graduated with a major in Astronomy, Astrophysics, CS+Astro, or Astro+DS in August 2025, December 2025, or May 2026. 

Registration

You must register in advance to participate in the Department of Astronomy Convocation Ceremony. This year's registration form is completely online and will open on Friday, February 6th. The registration link will also be emailed to students.

In addition to Convocation registration, please submit your answers to the following exit survey questions. These questions are incredibly important for keeping the department in contact with you and for determining the placement of our graduates. This exit survey will also be available at a later time.

Registration is required to participate in the ceremony. Registration guarantees your guests' tickets. To ensure full participation and ticket access, students are asked to register by Monday, March 9th.
