The James B. Kaler Astronomy Classroom

Professor Emeritus Jim Kaler is one of our most beloved faculty members — a familiar face of astronomy education and outreach at Illinois since 1964. He has published over 120 research papers, been awarded multiple awards and honors, including American Astronomical Society's 2008 Education Prize, and served as President of the Board of Directors of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific. Jim has also written nearly 20 books, including two textbooks, and his popular STARS website has recorded nearly 4 million visitors! In honor of his commitment to teaching and astronomy education, we are raising funds to name the Astronomy Department Classroom after Jim: the James B. Kaler Astronomy Classroom. In honor of his commitment to teaching and astronomy education, we raised funds to dedicate our classroom in his name.  We will dedicate the classroom on August 21, 2020. Here are the Zoom coordinates.
